This video is part of a larger playlist that encompasses the Ship Showcase. This is the forty first video that I recorded.

The Platinum Heart is a POW Armor style ship with some powerful weapons. The red weapon fires a thin, continuous beam straight ahead. The blue weapon fires two homing lasers that bend remarkably well. The yellow weapon fires a vertical beam above and below the Force, and is also continuous. The Enhanced Homing Missiles will cut through popcorn enemies without exploding, and cause significant damage to larger Bydo. I used the Shield Bits here for their defensive nature. The Force behaves in the standard pattern and fires bullets in the standard four directions. The Wave Cannon fires straight ahead, but if it strikes the Force, it will diffuse into multiple bolts.
Stage 6.2 is a subspace pathway to the Bydo dimension. It first showed up this way in R-Type Command, and there were several stages that took place in it. When you exited, it looked like stage 7.2 in that game.
My original plan for the Platinum Heart was to play stage 7.2, but upon discovering that the yellow weapon was a continuous beam, I changed my mind to 6.2, since I'd never recorded this stage for the Ship Showcase. I was in a state of half waking half dreaming the night before I recorded this, thinking about the boss in this stage, and I came up with the idea of using the yellow weapon to block the flaming bolts that the boss shoots from the front while also using the beam to destroy the weak point. I've only ever timed this boss out, but the Platinum Heart lends itself well to fighting this particular boss. It's a great ship overall.
