On January 20, 2026, nine RTD Transit Police officers, including three K-9 units, were recognized in a pinning ceremony hosted by the Boulder Police Department. The Transit Police officers were recognized for their help with the investigation in the immediate aftermath.
RTD’s Chief of Police and Emergency Management noted at the ceremony: “At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what patch is on our arm. We’re all going to come out and assist the public, and that’s what’s needed.”
