We were a little disappointed that we couldn't enter the cosplay contest ourselves this year, but that gave us the perfect opportunity to sit back, enjoy the show, and appreciate the incredible creativity on display at the Route 66 Comic & Toy Show in Lebanon, Missouri.
From Five Nights at Freddy's and Resident Evil to Super Mario, RWBY, Steven Universe, Undertale, Hatsune Miku, and more, competitors brought their favorite characters to life while sharing the stories, craftsmanship, and countless hours of work behind their costumes.
What makes cosplay contests special isn't just who wins—it's seeing the creativity, problem-solving, artistry, and passion that goes into every costume. Whether it was hand-sewn dresses, custom wigs, cardboard props, 3D-printed accessories, historical research, or even Monster Energy cans turned into costume pieces, every contestant brought something unique to the stage.
Congratulations to all of the participants and winners, and a huge thank you to the organizers, judges, and sponsors who helped make this year's cosplay contest another fantastic event.
