A solo vibraphone version of Monk's classic ballad. Thinking about orchestration/arranging utilizing the entire range of the instrument and incorporating various techniques such as counterpoint, ostinatos, stacked voicings, inner line movement within the harmony, varying the textures, and other technique and concepts. There is so much to work with and so many possibilities when it comes to four mallet solo vibraphone playing. All of these techniques and concepts are in my latest book focusing on solo vibraphone. In the book there are many written out solos over a variety of songs. Some of the solos utilize a specific concept while others use a mix of techniques.
