The sound stones of Rosslyn Chapel are intricate geometric patterns carved into 213 cubes within the Lady Chapel that are believed to be a musical code. Composers Stuart and Tommy Mitchell decoded this pattern by relating the carvings to cymatics, or Chladni patterns, to derive a 13-note melody they titled "The Rosslyn Motet". The piece, which sounds like a Celtic melody or nursery rhyme, was premiered in the chapel in 2007.
