Hi all
This my first replication of the Rosemary Ainslie circuit as per described on her last paper.

I ordered some of those IRFPE 40 mosfet because they are high voltage and low rds(on), and they are much cheaper than the IRFPG50.

The load is a heating element of the grill part of a Micro wave oven. it is a heating inductor.(rolled resistive wire)

The shunt sensing resistor for measuring the current, are 4 paralleled 0.01 ohm 5 w ceramic resistors.

The circuit works with about all the range of my signal generator and i have to adjust the dutycycle to get an acceptable result.depending of the frequency.

But it seems that the down current surface (wave) increases with frequency.

I have tried the circuit with 12 volt battery and it works too, By working i mean that i can get this "negative current" and the voltage peak, which is higher than the nominal voltage of the supply.

I could heat the resistive element higher than 60 degrees celcius (depending ofdutycycle and frequency)

I am impressed by the fact that there is this very strong negative current wave, and does it show that a great part or almost all the current drawn goes back to the power supply ?

If any explanations ?

Good luck at all

Laurent

PS
I made this experiment with my low material and knowledge, so please don't flame me if error.

If any explanation
