Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Noël Coward's Fallen Angels begins performances at the Todd Haimes Theatre on Broadway March 27. The production will officially open April 19. The limited engagement will continue through June 7.
Fallen Angels follows two wealthy married women who, with husbands away, toast their pre-wedding loves—who happen to be the same man, who's on his way to visit. The work premiered in London in 1925, coming to Broadway in 1927. Early productions attracted the ire of censors, who objected to its shocking depiction of women acknowledging premarital sex.
Starring Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You) as Jane Banbury and Tony winner Kelli O'Hara (The King and I) as Julia Sterroll, the leading pair are joined by Tracee Chimo (Noises Off) as Saunders, Mark Conseulos (Orphans) as Maurice Duclos, Christopher Fitzgerald (Waitress) as Willy Banbury, and Aasif Mandvi (The Daily Show) as Fred Sterroll.
