STEP 1.
Fill the hair.

A filler is used to add an underlying pigment to the hair, which at a level 9/10 is a blank canvas.
-
To add your colour directly onto hair without a filler could result in greenish hair, that washes out and fades excessively.

This step is often skipped with ‘at-home’ colour jobs. #boxdyefails.

Maggie used 7/43 by COLOR TOUCH, filling a few inches near the root.

STEP 2.
Wash & Condition.

Maggie takes EXTRA care with porous, over-processed hair, by using #WellaPlex, which helps repair broken sulfide bonds in the hair.
-
She also supplements this with FusionPlex shampoo, conditioner and masque, designed to repair and protect hair from breakage and damages.

In this day and age, Wellaplex isn’t just a game changer, it’s an absolute necessity.

STEP 3.
Apply your semi-permanent or permanent colour.

For this specific look, Maggie created the gradient effect you see by melting three colours throughout the hair. She used the following formulas by Color Touch:
-Root - 4/71 6 vol
-Mids- 6/71 6 vol
-Ends 9/97 6 vol
* #colortouch is the gentlest option to use for over-processed hair and yields the shiniest results.

STEP 4.
Wash, and apply WellaPlex No. 2.

By using these products by @wellahair, Maggie was able to correct her client's hair, and give her a beautiful root melt that looks and feels like buttttta!
