The Rhine Valley is one of the most important transport corridors in Germany. There are two main railway lines, one at the left side of the river (Linke Rheinstrecke) and other at the right side of the river (Rechte Rheinstrecke). The West Rhine railway is a famously picturesque, double-track electrified railway line running for 185km from Cologne via Bonn, Koblenz, and Bingen to Mainz. It is situated close to the western (left) bank of the river Rhine. The East Rhine Railway is a major, double-track, electrified railway line, running along the right bank of the Rhine from Cologne to Wiesbaden. The 179km long line forms two Deutsche Bahn routes. Route 465 extends from Cologne to Koblenz, via Troisdorf, Bonn-Beuel, Unkel, and Neuwied. Route 466 extends to Wiesbaden, via Rüdesheim am Rhein. Together with the Taunus railway (Route 645.1), the line is used by Stadt-Express line SE-10 of the Rhine-Main Transport Association, which runs from Frankfurt to Koblenz and Neuwied. With the Cologne-Frankfurt high-speed railway and the Sieg Railway, the East Rhine Railway forms a six-track line between Cologne-Porz and Troisdorf. It includes two tunnels between Rüdesheim and Niederlahnstein, including the well-known Loreley Tunnel near Sankt Goarshausen.

The railway line between Kolín and Česká Třebová is the busiest railway line in the Czech Republic. Hundreds of passenger and most diverse freight trains pass this section every day. This video shows the hilly section between Choceň and Ústí nad Orlicí (primarily near Brandýs nad Orlicí and Bezpráví).
Considering the hilly terrain there are several large railway curves and train speeds are around 80km/h. This makes this section of the railway very picturesque and beautiful for photography and filming trains. A very large number of trains makes interesting situations on a large part of the recordings. The video shows many frames with simultaneous passing of two trains.
On this section there are several railroad crossings. They are activated for most of the day, because they have an incredibly large number of lowering due to the very large number of trains.
The video shows various passenger trains such as Euro City (EC trains), express trains, fast trains, Regiojet, Railjet, City Elephant and most other regional and local trains of Czech Railways and different private railway operators. In the freight railway transport, numerous private railway operators are also shown. Among them there are ČD Cargo trains, Metrans intermodal trains, Unipetrol Doprava tank trains and many others freight trains.

From the foggy morning to the sunny and clear evening, this video shows a lot of trains in one whole day in Szárliget village and its surroundings. Many fast passenger trains and slightly less freight trains filled this day at the track junction and switch area of the railway station Szárliget.
This railway station is located on the main line from Budapest to Central and Western Europe, at Budapest – Hegyeshalom – Rajka railway line, between Budapest and Győr, near Szár and Tatabánya (Budapest – Hegyeshalom – Rajka vasútvonal at Komárom - Esztergom Hungarian county region). The area is characterized by a winding 140km/h and 160km/h two-track corridor railway line, which crosses over hilly undulating terrain, with an abundance of beautiful meadows and fields.
In order to achieve the best train - rail sound effects the recording was realized in the area of the track switches on both sides of the station. Theres a bunch of rail track junctons and rail gaps, where the wheels and bogies of fast passing trains make the well-known and most beautiful railway sounds.
With plenty of different freight and speed passenger trains, spending a whole day on this line is not boring, especially for railway enthusiasts and photographers. Among others, there are InterCity, EuroCity, EuroNight, Railjet and Regiojet trains, as well as intermodal and mixed freight MÁV, ÖBB and Raaberbahn or GYSEV trains.
Recording started early in the morning, around 7am, in a very dense fog. The sight of the fog on the railway with the sun breaking through it, could be interesting as the trains appear out of nowhere and blast through it. After two hours, the fog gradually lifted to give way to low clouds and a sunny day. Recording was completed just before dark, by a slow freight train, which was overtaken by the fast Railjet.

Due to the exceptional beauty of the landscape surrounding, as well as the outstanding architectural works created in almost two centuries ago, this line is one of the outstanding cultural and natural resources. This line passes through scenery landscapes of lower Austria Alps. Crossing over the mountain pass required the construction of several large railway line serpentines. Routing of the railway line required the construction of a wide variety of rail tunnels and viaducts. Old historical railway tunnels, galleries and viaducts along this railway line attract great attention with their beautiful appearance.
Today, this line is an important route for the traffic of numerous passenger and freight trains. This is the connection between the numerous European freight transport centers and ports on the Adriatic Sea. It explains the presence of large number of freight trains. Germany ICE high-speed and freight trains traffic at central - northern Germany main railway line Hanover - Hamburg. Operating speed for ICE and IC trains is 200km/h and theres also very dense and frequent freight rail traffic. There is an extraordinary number of old and new types of Deutsche Bahn InterCity Express trains (DB ICE 1, ICE 2, ICE T, ICE 4 in all three train formations).
It is an extremely busy railway line with around 400 trains per day (around 200/day per direction). Industrial centers and the port of Hamburg are the main generators of a large number of intermodal and all other types of freight trains. Container intermodal trains are prevailing. The Hanover–Hamburg railway is one of the most important railway lines in Lower Saxony and Germany. It links the Lower Saxon state capital of Hanover with Hamburg, running through Celle, Uelzen and Lüneburg.
One of the main highlights of this video is the special sound effects and accompanying feeling of fast trains passing by. Special scenic environment for the filming was achieved by relatively calm winter weather and the old railway buildings and facilities on the side of the tracks dating back almost 180 years.
The old railway line, renovated and modernized for speeds of 200 km/h, is completely integrated into the natural environment it passes through. The peace and quiet that rule the environment, with some calming sounds of nature and the chirping of birds, is occasionally disturbed for a short time by the approaching fast express or freight train. Winter weather without snow, with trees without leaves, provides very interesting contrasting scenes. Then all the sounds of the environment spread easily and the sound of oncoming trains can be heard from a great distance. The loud screeching rail sound under the wheels of the train is especially pronounced when the locomotive of passenger trains accelerates.
At train stations and stops, some platforms for passengers are located next to the main fast tracks. In those cases, an rail station announcement for attention is occasionally heard over the loudspeaker due to the passing of a train without stopping. It sounds powerful, especially when its repeated twice in a row before a train comes by. In the short time before the oncoming train, there is uncertainty and eager anticipation as to which train will come.
Recording was done on a stretch of 90 km from Lüneburg to Celle. On that section, some scenes were recorded in:
Bienenbüttel - several freight train overtakings by ICE trains;
Bad Bevensen - old scenic railway station, with announcements of caution and attention due to trains passing by the platforms;
Uelzen - station renovated following plans by the Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The Uelzen station is now marketed as the Hundertwasser-Bahnhof Uelzen. Today it is one of the towns popular tourist attractions;
Suderburg - evening calming scenes with the silence interrupted by the passing of a couple of ICE trains;
Unterlüß - a scene in a park with train wheels and railway signals with a large number of consecutive intermodal trains;
Eschede - the place where most known high-speed train accident happened (Eschede train disaster). It is the biggest ICE train tragedy ever and the greatest of all high-speed trains tragedies in the World. Memorial garden and park in Eschede is shown in more detail in the second half of the video;
Celle - a night scene with a blue sky, the end of the days noise and trains rush, with loud sounds from the belfry of the nearby church. The silence of the stopped train is briefly disturbed by sudden passing of the fast ICE train passing on the next track.
Some of the special scenic filming locations are the dense, old forests through which this railway line passes. In the surroundings, with a railway view, there are also beautiful, old historical, German building style houses.
