Rode Road Test - Rode Wireless Go 2 Motovlog Setup - Uncut Long Waffle Test
This is NOT a review, and neither is it a 'how to'.
This is simply my first time trying out the Rode wireless go 2 as a motvlog setup. I didn't record it with the intention of publishing the video, but as it came out so well I decided to make it public. It may be useful for someone considering the same setup. In this test you'll hear everything from me speaking softly, to speaking loud enough to be heard at speed.
The transmitter is wired to a Rode smartLav+ microphone with a dead cat, which just pokes out of my cheek pad in the helmet. It requires a TRS-TRRS adaptor (possibly the other way around), and the receiver wires to the mic adaptor on my gopro 7 black.
I thought I was going to have problems with excessive audio levels, but was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't great at 60mph, but it was quite a windy day and that wouldn't have helped. Overall I am very pleased with the results. The quality isn't as good as my usual setup, but good enough in my opinion. The question now is, how well will it work with two mic's feeding into the receiver. Watch this space if you're interested.
