Rock-a-Doodle (77 min)
Synopsis: One stormy evening, a young boy named Edmond is told a bedtime story about Chanticleer, a rooster who believes his crowing makes the sun rise. One day, the sun rises before Chanticleer can crow and the farm animals reject and ridicule the rooster. Humiliated, Chanticleer leaves the farm and becomes a famous rock & roll singer known as “The King.” With Chanticleer gone, the sun disappears and the farm is stricken with perpetual darkness and rainfall. As his family tries to save their farm from the storm, Edmond calls out for Chanticleer, only to upset a villainous owl known as the Grand Duke. The Duke uses his magical breath to transform Edmond into an animated white kitten. Edmond is rescued by Chanticleer’s farm friends, who are on a mission to find Chanticleer and convince him to crow again. Edmond teams up with a basset hound named Patou, a cowardly magpie named Snipes, and an intellectual field mouse named Peepers to find Chanticleer in the big city. However, their mission becomes more challenging when Chanticleer falls in love with a singing pheasant named Goldie. Can Edmond and the other farm animals convince Chanticleer to return home and make the sun rise again?

• The film was originally going to be released by MGM in November 1990, but MGM dropped out as distributor. Bluth rescheduled the film for release around Thanksgiving 1991 and selected The Samuel Goldwyn Company as the film's distributor. The release date was further moved to April 1992.
