In this video for Jivey Talks Tech, James takes on recording drums using a recording method developed by British producer/engineer Glyn Johns, better known as the Glyn Johns Technique.
This technique uses 3 carefully positioned mics to create a powerful drum sound with a very strong stereo image.
The mics used in the recording are 3x AKG 114 large diaphragm condenser mics and a stereo pair of AKG C151 small diaphragm condensers.
Watch and listen as these 5 mics are used in the recording of the drums for the track Big Drums.
