For the Berklee College Professional Drum Certificate Course in week 5.
What I describe below is everything we had been working on in this particular week.



In the verse... you will find me playing,
1: Straight four snare drum (rimshot)
2: Unaccented 16th note ride pattern on hi-hat
3: Open hi-hat beat
4: Double backbeat
5: Traditional fill
...and a back beat fill going into the chorus.
(after the chorus, when the verse comes around a second time, I also add in a beat fill.)

In the chorus... you will find me playing,
1: Tom tom beat
2: 8th note and 16th note ride pattern on cowbell
3: Traditional fill moving out of the chorus
