For an amateur radio project, I coded up a simple encoder for Robot36 format SSTV images, and generated a .WAV file. I then loaded this file onto an SD Card and plugged it into an Arduino which is equipped with an Audio Shield. I piped the audio output of the Arduino back into my laptop, which is equipped with Multiscan, a good SSTV program for Mac OS X. As you can see, the timing isn't very close: the image skews rather sharply to the right, but in the end, the image is automatically corrected by Multiscan.
