The Changemaker Award was awarded to Robbie Pickering at the 2026 Artist Development Showcase, an evening of curated short films made by alumni of Film Independent’s Artist Development programs, on July 21, 2026 at the Harmony Gold Theater. Established in 2023 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Film Independent Artist Development, the Changemaker Awards embody the organization’s mission to
champion independent voices and create impactful, positive change. These awards highlight the extraordinary work of Film Independent program alumni, whose body of work and commitment to giving back have made far-reaching impact – both within the industry and in their communities.
Robbie Pickering is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He is best known as the creator and showrunner of the Starz limited series Gaslit (2022), and for writing and directing the award-winning independent film Natural Selection (2011). He has also
written on Search Party and Mr. Robot.
