Cunard's Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth were the ultimate troopships in World War II. Capable of carrying well over 10,000 men, they sailed unescorted, relying on their speed to evade predators. They also, as seen in this video, were equipped to defend themselves should the need have arisen.
There is little specific information about this film in the archives, other than it is of the Queen Elizabeth and that it was taken in 1942. Where she was, what troops were aboard, who the officers seen in close-ups were, are all unknown.
The original film is silent, so I've added some appropriate music and sound.
