Valley Railroad 1647, as it was then known, was the first of the Chinese steam engines imported in 1990's. With a builder's date of May 1989 (by coincidence, the same month as Tianamen Square), it arrived on the property in March 1990. This video shows it just a week or two after its arrival, its builder's red, white and black paint still like new. At the throttle is Valley's chief mechanical officer and the brains behind the Chinese locomotive import plan, David Conrad.
