Not all damage is equal. Big damage should come with some big downsides, right? Game designers have tons of levers to pull to make their game's damage riskier, and thus make their games more engaging. More interesting. More of a process, than just a bunch of flashy graphics. Today we're talking about a lot of distinct ways a game can balance extreme damage with consequences, trade offs, and drawbacks.

Featuring:
One specific Sunkern
Mina the Hollower
Paper Mario TTYD
Resident Evil 9: Requiem
Monster Hunter (series)

Fuga: Melodies of Steel
Fire Emblem (series)
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Ace Combat (series)
Star Fox 64
Team Fortress 2
