The funny castlevania reference level. As carefully designed as it is, you can basically just run through it to get the gold rank, grabbing only the items in your immediate path. Also this was recorded post-patch, as prior to the patch, taking damage would stun you temporarily, even though this in itself was also a reference to Castlevania, it was probably removed due to it just being frustrating, getting hit by a jellyfish was basically a death sentence.
Completing this trial unlocks Whip, an alternate primary skill for Bandit.
