Smiling Friends, the Adult Swim cartoon from Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel aka psychicpebbles is coming to an end with its third season, despite earlier plans for more episodes. In a recent video, the two explained that the pace of production over the past several years had left them exhausted, and they preferred to close the series while they still felt proud of it. Adult Swim has backed that choice and left the door open for future collaborations if they decide to revisit it. Two extra episodes made during the third season’s production will air on April 12, 2026, and after those, the series is finished.
