This is for The Pokemon League's special event Burning Love/Icy Regret. Was for Valentines, now it's for White Day which is a godsend for me since I took ageeeees to start my projects. This is for the #icyregret portion of the event - basically, we had to edit to a NOTP of ours.
After a lot of switching around I went for Hope/Bhunivelze in the end, trying to interpret some of the 169 goddamn years Hope spent in his clutches before LR as well as some of the "rose coloured phantom" driving him mad stuff from the novels. Oh and Hope killing someone who looked like Lightning ISN'T in the rose-coloured phantom tale, but I thought it was kind of a fitting end and might have been a way to break him? This is a... Hope giving in and willingly letting Bhunivelze take over in the end, but it should probably be SLIGHTLY clear why this isn't a pairing that ranks high healthiness-wise.
Hopefully you guys enjoy it! It was cool to edit with text that isn't super dramatic dialogue, and kind of refreshing to NOT be editing a heavily AU video!

The language used in the video is Urdu- and is not what the lyrics are saying at all, because Sigur Ros dont work in translatable lyrics. Just in case anyone watching this can read/understand Urdu and calls me out on it. Some of these masks nearly killed me, Im so lazy at masking. :S
I dont think anyone thought that I WASNT going to go back into Psychic, really. Riku as a character is probably pretty similar to what I was going for when it all started YEARS ago; thought Id link to the original audition thing:

Riku lives in the outskirts of the city, and is the son of the head of police/security within the districts of the city. Yaag is a step down from the Hunters- the police uphold the law up until psychics are concerned, where the Hunters tend to be called in to deal with the problem. He has an older brother, Zexion (20 to Rikus 17), who passed the test to join the Hunters when he was still a teenager, and moved out to work for them two years prior to Psychic Reduxs beginning. Rikus psychic abilities emerged when he was four years old, and have caused tension amongst the family since his childhood, although they all keep it a secret because others discovering the truth would ruin Yaags career. He cant stand Riku, and while Nora (their mother) tries to play peacemaker, there isnt really all THAT much she can do to help him. She borders on alcoholic, and even though Yaag is rarely home (work keeps him away) and Zexion isnt around, Riku tends to wander off for long periods of time without much warning. Still enrolled in school, his attendance is appalling, and his grades suffering as he barely pays attention when he does actually bother to turn up.
He tends to draw the attention of the Hunters, as he sometimes loses control of his powers and causes distortions and illusions unintentionally. Rikus developed his ability to use illusions- basically messing with peoples heads- but has hardly refined them. Hes a decent fighter, and often relies on illusion in combat, but can be headstrong and get carried away. He also travels out to the shore (were saying its a city near the sea, kay), which is his favourite place to take a breather and relax. When calming down there after a fight with a Hunter that he didnt intentionally provoke for once, he finds Namis letter.")

Theres a story, if you can be bothered reading it. If not, Ill surmise at the bottom.
Aerith, ever since she was a little girl, could see the dead people. It never frightened her- to her, it was natural, but her parents were terrified, so she went to live with her aunt, Lulu. (The voice at the start.) Lulu taught Aerith how to be able to converse with the spirits she saw, how to help them move on. They needed to be guided; since, otherwise, they might never face their fate, might never accept their death and move beyond, into the Lifestream circling the planet.
When she was nineteen, Aerith was in her aunts church, hidden in the slums beneath the city, where all the spirits of the dead first found themselves after their demise. She clasped her hands together in prayer, knowing, /feeling/ that someone was about to appear.
But this spirit was different. She felt something wrench at her gut, and gasped, as she saw his last few seconds. He had been a handsome, cocky, and eccentric-looking young man, sword fighting an old enemy to the death. The sense of foreboding in her heart was collasal as he turned to look at a friend watching from the shadows, heard him try to say something. Distracted, the man was unable to stop the blade plunging through his heart. Try as she might, Aerith couldnt look away, couldnt stop herself seeing anything like she usually could. The mans ally, who, when he stepped into the moonlight, was just a boy, a boy of around fifteen with terrified, bright blue eyes. JACK!!! He cried out, running towards the dying man.
His killer laughed, turning to run away, dropping the sword as Jack fell. Youre a fool, Jack Sparrow. he declared, leaving the cave.
Aerith and the young boy saw the light start to fade from Jacks eyes, as they slid shut.
The man fell with a crash into the seats nearest the altar, and, as Aerith ran to him, lifted his head, clearly dazed. Helll-llloooooooooooooo! Aerith called, smiling slightly at his disheveled appearence. The past was the past, she told herself.
Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please. he slurred, blinking in the harsh light streaming through the churchs windows.
Im Aerith. She smiled, at turned away, pointing at the hole he had somehow managed to make in her roof. You fell from the sky.
She turned, to see him glaring, shouting at her, angered. He knew what had happened... He knew he was dead. She kept talking, reassuring him, telling him everything would be okay eventually, he could go to the Lifestream...
Jack calmed, and looked slightly embarrased at being so rude to her. He apologised.
And Aerith shook her head, telling him he didnt have to.
Months passed, and Jack still didnt fade. He wouldnt leave her on her own, he decided. He took Aerith onto his ship, able to control it because, somehow, when he was with her... He felt alive again, felt much more than a spirit. And they adventured together... he, taking the burden of the dead spirits off of Aeriths shoulders, and setting her free.
Jack Sparrow... perhaps he was more than just a ghost.
SUMMARY: Aerith sees spirits, and is given the job of sending them to the Lifestream. Jack is a spirit, has horrible death, wakes up in her church. They become friends, even though Jack is dead, and they both know it.

So, Im auditioning with Lightning.
Shes a no-nonsense soldier who enlisted into the Palamecian military in an attempt to gain citizenship. Her enlistment forms were pretty devoid of information - she refused to give her surname and wouldnt get any more specific than listing her home country as Karnak. Those arranging the draft assumed she was running from something, but she never let it show. She slotted in with the troops fairly easily, despite being foreign - kept her head down and worked hard.
Two years into the three required to earn citizenship, she is informed that one of Palamecias royal family has picked her out to be part of the royal guard. She had her heart set on the special forces and is shocked that she is being given whats seen as an honour so early, but she can hardly turn down the opportunity.
She meets Vanille, who is... not quite what she was expecting from a princess. After some doubt over her promotion, she settles into her new position and gets to know her charge over the next few months. Shes wary of getting close to her but falls into enough familiarity to at least stop calling her Your Highness and hiding her exasperated sighs when she acts out. When Vanille demands to go to the Feast of the Bride, Lightning seems uncomfortable with attending but she eventually wears her down.
At the festival, all hell breaks loose. Ghosts run rampant. In all the chaos, Lightning freezes.
And then, when reunited with Vanille, denies anything happened. She is convinced that the ghosts are some sort of deranged prank from a rogue mage. She doesnt believe theyre real. Paranoid and in denial, she wont even consider the possibility.
This has all been discussed with Blue (whos playing Vanille) beforehand - Im not just pulling new bits of lore (like the citizenship stuff) out of nowhere at random!")

Some idiot went and got a job right before her huge important final exams and hasnt really spent much time editing anything remotely productive this past month.
Right. Anyway. The theme was meant to be obsession, so I kind of ended up panicking and going for the ever-so-cliche no one else can have you if I cant kind of obsession. But its kind of... less of romantic interest and more of protectiveness gone wrong? Like, it didnt really start with romantic feelings or jealous feelings, it just turned out that way because Zack wanted to have Noctis completely to himself in every way?
Story is really muddled and confusing because I edited this in a half-confused blur; basically, Noctis is some mafia boss son (hello plot of Versus XIII, Im sliding off into you here) and Zack is his -very- dedicated bodyguard who gradually turns possessive over him. Whether its just a general fixated fascination or lust or romantic interest or whatever is up to interpretation, but Zack tries to dominate every moment of Nocts existence, even to the point where when he has to stand by while Noctis interacts with his own fucking sister he cant take it and gets twitchy. Aerith accidentally catches Zack forcing a kiss on Noct at some point, and when she asks him about it he insists hes fine and that it was nothing and even that he didnt mind, it didnt hurt, etc. She still remains worried.
Because its a magical world and I say so, and because they do horrible shit, the Caelum family have a few skeletons under the floorboards, and a cursed/possessed portrait (to go with that whole theme of possession and obsession and so on) which feeds energy off strong emotion. Zacks overwhelming obsession and jealousy cause the spirit to latch onto him, and eventually its able to manifest and try to get rid of Noct, since hes the spitting image of his father or something and that pisses her off.
Instead of protecting him, Zack taunts Noct, finally stripping off the nice friendly guy act he keeps up most of the time to be the little shit he really is. Noct is understandably horrified, and the ghost dead spirit portraity thing instructs Zack to go off and do what he wants while she makes Noct pay for not... returning his psycho weird feelings. So Zack runs off and goes to get rid of Aerith, who hes convinced himself is the reason Noct is reluctant to be with him (and not that hes a complete weirdo), but when he goes to attack her, she panics and shoots him in self defense.
He collapses, and dies, and the spirit returns to him to cradle his dying body, because his anger and frustration and lust and crap was her anchor to be able to take proper form and that. And she says darling, you fucked up, since hes doomed them both. Yipee. Cheery.
Im sorry about the language.
BONUS QUESTION:
1. Theyre both gorgeous as fuck. Thats the shallow one.
2. From what little weve seen of Nocts personality (from trailers and Nomura interviews and stuff), hes just about the polar opposite of Zack, really. Shy and reserved and adorkable, with a frosty outer shell- and I think that would create a really interesting dynamic with Zack, since theyd balance each other out and encourage different traits in one another.
3. Given that Zack dies a brutal gory death and Noctis is from a game based on HAMLET, I think its safe to say there could be buckets of glorious angst.

Okay, I barely have any time, and this is INCREDIBLY rushed. School returned with a vengeance and Ive had a lot of workload to keep up with, so this is really, REALLY thrown together. I dont even really have the time to make a whole story and type it all out, since Im going to London in literally nine hours and Im not ready or washed up yet and I need to sleep, etcetera...
But to keep it brief, second assignment for Reapers Edit, blah, you guys kind of already know the whole drill by now... xD
The task was for the pairs to run into a person from their past- well, one of them, at least, linking the two of them wouldve been tricky.
So Cisna and Noct end up tailed by Hope, Noctis younger brother, (work with me here, Noct is apparently a natural blonde... [/shot]) who is helping out the Composers side of things, but wont talk about it much because hes a snotty little goody two shoes brat and he doesnt trust Noctis, mainly because his brother was a delinquent and an asshole and a liar and got himself into a lot of trouble beforehand Hopes suspicious Noct might turn rogue, even if he does manage not to butt heads with Cisna, thank lord, or hed be curbstomped by the both of them, easy.
That... probably wont make any sense. Noctis has a habit of walking off if he feels challenged, it seems, and the rest is a lot of memory and just stuff that I have to shove in fast in a panic to reach the time requirement in the few hours I had aroound to edit anything.

For The Sky Is The Limit; the question thingies are later on. After I have ranted.
Okay, not really ranted. But there is a slight issue with spoilers that I really dont think is much of an issue at all put some people will most likely kick up a fuss.
YES. There are clips from BBS. YES. They are past the opening.
Do they give much away? Not really.
Considering that the clips of Aqua are either from trailers, or an extension of her crying scene, included in the most recent trailer.
They could be anywhere in the game- well, I know specifically where theyre from as I downloaded them, but they could be from anywhere and dont really give much away.
And, NO, Aqua does not shoot herself. My crappy masking is all that made that happen. I dont think I give anything vital away- Vanitas remains masked, Terra is only used in a brief flash to show a connection between Sora and Zack. Ven isnt around either. xDD
Editing parts of Sora are intentional. But I will not say why and only will you get why properly if you get through various plotlines in BBS. :D
Basic plot because I cant be arsed typing a full story- THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BBS PLOT, I ASSURE YOU- Aqua and Zack are together in a flirty teasing kind of way, she wakes up, apparently after 12 years have elapsed though she remains the same age. Looking for Zack, she walks out the building to meet Namine, who with as little as a glance takes her elsewhere, into a memory... A memory from three years earlier. The memory of Zacks death. As he slipped away, he told Aqua he loved her, and she found herself crying, next to Namine, on a dark beach she didnt recognise. Overcome with grief over Zacks death and her missed twelve years, she doesnt hear Namine trying to tell her what happened to Zacks heart or see the attempts to show her a drawing of a dark haired boy... Namine looked at Aqua, smiling-
And Aqua pressed the gun against her temple and pulled the trigger.
Over on his island home, the boy in Namines picture, Sora, finds himself suddenly saddened for no reason whatsoever, staring out to sea. Seeing him in such a reverie, his best friend and crush only smiled, the latter walking up and gently placing her homemade good luck charm in his palm. Sora looked up, saw Aqua for a moment, but soon snapped out of it when Kairi leant forwards and kissed him.
Being the third wheel, Riku tried to ignore the fact his best friends were kissing and instead reminded himself of the last time hed seen that look in Soras eyes, when they were kids and the younger boy was making his first wish on a star. When, as Sora put it, the scary man first appeared in his head. It kept coming back, just flashes and images- followed by a girls face, a girl with blue hair...
Somehow, everything was connected.
There is no coincidence in fate.

Surprisingly, not many. I have a bit of a problem with Yuna and Aerith sometimes, but not so much I actually, yknow, HATE THEIR GUTS AND WANT TO RIP THEM OUT.
What kind of videos do you like to edit most? (e.g. Funvids, dramatic videos, character studies, just flowing with the music etc.)
I try to mix things up and balance masking and stuff with flow. (I hope it works T-T)
What is your major weak point? (let me know what you think is the biggest problem of your editing)
- Im super lazy. If it all looks okay, I dont really care how long the end result is. Im way too anal retentive about my masking and it always comes out off. Also, flashy, hyper effects are a huge problem- I can never vid anything discoey or hyper, because I dont have a proper grasp of any crazy colour mixing or anything. ^^;
And your strong point?
Probably the messing with the story side of things; altering clips and masking in an attempt to make things appear how I want them. xD Also, Im quite proud of my audio editing now (whether it be cutting the song, which I dont do here apart from very very crappy cutting at the end with a stupid white space that somehow ended up blank though I DID put something there and the rendering killed it, OR editing voices to make characters say things they were never supposed to.)")

So Endwalker gave me brainrot. Literally. I have not managed to edit much other than for Tangos birthday in a long long while. Im just a sucker for a parallel and FFXIV lets me do a LOT OF PARALLELS. Shes popped up in some of Amys videos but the blue-haired beech is my FFXIV OC, Astra, who is an Ala Mhigan with some major trauma and a hair-trigger temper.
