Valero is North America's leading renewable diesel producer with a current production capacity of 700 million gallons per year. A new 470 million gallon per year renewable diesel plant is being built adjacent to Valero's Port Arthur refinery. Operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023. Once complete, Diamond Green Diesel's total renewable diesel capacity will be 1.2 billion gallons per year.
Recycled animal fats, used cooking oil and inedible corn oil are used to produce a low-carbon intensity renewable diesel fuel. It's a drop-in fuel that doesn't require infrastructure investments and has up to 80% lower life cycle GHG emissions.
