I admit, when I played City of Heroes, I wasn't all that into base-building. Not the least of which was because of all the delightful problems like enforced positioning based on power needs, "magic desks", no windows, and so forth.
In Rift, on the other hand, I absolutely fell in love with dimension building, and my first one was this - Raelskye's Refuge, an RP-friendly dimension on Faeblight open for others to visit. A nature refuge in the Moonshade Highlands, it started out fairly simple and then got more and more elaborate as I became more confident about dimension building. I took it as a mark of pride when people would enter, look around, and swear that there was no way it was Moonshade Pools. And then they'd get lost in all the trees!
(Seriously - of 2000 items in the Refuge, at least 500 of them are TREES. Oh yeah, and the herb garden? EVERY dimension plant is there.)
So since I wanted to show it off for some time now, I decided to finally film it.
The Refuge contains a fairy ring, a blessed pool, Raelskye's cottage, a Nexus Cannon, an Elemental Conflux, an herb garden, an observatory, a library, a meditation garden, a larder, shrines to all five Gods of the Vigil (Bahralt, Mariel-Taun, Tavril, Thedeor, and Thontic), as well as a Vigil Chapel.
(Visitors are welcome to +1 the Refuge, but it's not required.)
The music is the absolutely lovely "The Stars are Out" by Dexter Britain.
