A completely ridiculous installation of a King of Fans branded 42" top mount flush mount spinner ceiling fan model CF-42.
I've never seen a top mount spinner be able to be flush mounted before, and for good reason. This puts the blades so close to the ceiling that it becomes functionally worthless -- no air is able to get on top of the blades for it to properly circulate the air.
This is bad enough on a low ceiling, the absurdity is amplified even more in a situation like this.
As worthless of an install as this is, there's a hue of nostalgia to it. I remember seeing so many ceiling fan installs over the years where the fan was set up in a way that was totally outside of reason and completely worthless. Countless fans installed in stores, restaurants, and churches so high off the ground in such a large area that they had absolutely no effect whatsoever, yet were still run on a regular basis as if they were having some sort of effect.
I always wondered about that. Someone had to spend good money to buy the fans and have them installed, which would be quite a production on 20'+ ceiling heights. All that later, the fans are turned on and no air movement is felt down below. Do people not notice? Do people just not care? Were the fans just for aesthetics? It never made sense to me.
