I recently set up this Vtech 5.8 GHz 6763 cordless telephone with digital answering system and wanted to use the answering machine. I configured the settings the way I wanted then performed a test call to make sure it was working properly. The time was not set at this point as I was expecting it to capture the time from the CID data.
Upon reviewing the testing message, I noticed that it not only failed to capture the time from the CID data, but it recorded the words "Power Failure" into the beginning of the message.
Since this is a digital machine, I find it odd that it would record this audio into the message as opposed to setting a flag to play the phrase before messages if the condition of the clock being set isn't met, or some comparable logic.
What's even more odd about this is that the voice reading this phrase is the male voice, while the rest of the machine is the female voice. I have seen this model ship with both voices, but never a combination of both.
