Ridicule is the best tool available to shut down those annoying outcasts have the courage to go against the grain. When you want nothing other than to continue to conform to Government Agenda, Scientism, Cultural Marxism or general Mainstream Media Consumption in general, there's no better deterrant against those annoying conspiracy theorists, racists, bigots & literal Nazis peddling those wacky ideas which threaten to challenge your most comfortable beliefs.
Why give those rejects and malcontents any more of your precious potential TV time when there's a free, easy and universal tool to shut them up and shut them down. No need to think too hard, just RIDICULE!
