A drive through Independence Pass/CO 82 from Aspen East toward Twin Lakes in late summer. A stunning and occasionally terrifying drive through the pass. There are always incredible views and steep cliffs, but not always guard rails or two lanes. Twin Lakes was the last town before heading west over the pass to Independence, a former gold mining town of about 100 buildings (now a ghost town). If weather came in one might get stuck on one side of the pass or the other until spring. The history of this road is very interesting. At its highest the pass is 12,095 feet. Kind of insane. Please be kind and don’t criticize my driving in the comments. The video is sped up. Thanks!
