My friend volunteered to scout a trail lost to time for Adirondack Mountain Club. Our task was to hike the “marked trail” to see if there had been any changes and write an updated trail description.

The trail to West Mountain from the west was a rugged grown over forgotten and pristine area. We enjoyed our trek and knowing we were helping out our local trails. When a trail is lost and closed, it is closed for good. No new trail will be cut. There is an effort to renew this beautiful trail in the Pigeon Lakes Wilderness Area.
