What does it mean to approach the world in a marxist way? How do the tools and approaches of marxism (such as dialectics, materialism, internationalism, and others) help us to understand the world so that we can change it, whether in the realm of science or politics? What is the relationship between science and politics? Between marxism and education? Between theory and Practice?
World-renowned scholar-activist Richard Levins will be helping to guide a discussion of these questions, and many others, at the CME, located right in Central Square.
A longtime activist who has made deep and lasting contributions to struggles in Cuba and in Puerto Rico, as well as here in the US, Richard Levins is Professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, as well as a author of such books as the Dialectical Biologist, as well as many articles for journals such as Monthly Review and Socialism and Democracy. He is ideally situated to enlighten and inspire as the newly revitalized Center for Marxist Education enters a new and expanded phase of radical thought and action.
