Depending on the time of year, the Rhineland raised bogs are filled with beautiful white bog cotton, tan heather, dwarf shrubs, green mosses, and red from carnivorous sundews and cranberries. Many of these plants are endangered. Restoration efforts focus on blocking drains, removing invasive species, and managing water levels to support these unique, moisture-dependent species facing alarming rates of decline."
