This week we celebrate the contributions of Reza Nasseri, net-zero pioneer and the founder of Landmark Homes who began working on affordable net-zero homes more than 15 years ago.
While many custom builders were experimenting with elaborate designs which often included features such as double walls Nasseri was determined to find the most affordable and simple designs for achieving net-zero in homes. He. built his first net-zero home in 2013, a home for the Royal Alexandra Foundations's fundraser that year.
By 2014 he'd built the first net-zero townhouse project in Alberta, a 14-unit net-zero project in Edmonton.
We trace his roots in Alberta back to when he immigated from Iran and follow his relentless work on net-zero through slow times right to the present day when his companies are involved in building 100 net-zero homes in Blatchford, Edmonton's carbon neutral community.
It's an inspiring story of determination and commitment to building the most affordable net-zero home possible.
