This might be my favorite Recology truck by far I’ve ever filmed. Just an amazing pair you just can't beat. So Kennys Trucks and I were able to go and film our favorite driver in the Recology team. A few weeks before we came out to film Kenny meet up with Carl (the driver) on route and see if he possible could bring out a specific truck, So he tried his hardest but I was not going to make him take a truck that has seen WAY better days. But look who pulled through but before that funny story when he tried starting his truck in the morning something popped (it's something important) but I don't remember exactly what it was. So he knew what truck he was going to take on route! Now I digress, I think Recology is actually trying to keep the Amreps or at least this one. Why? Well let's rewind a month or two. Just chatting with the driver I happen to bring up this truck. He replied that it was down, being the person I am I asked what happened? Anyway a driver hopped a 6 yard, he tried to hide the evidence by packing it. Well bad Idea. Something broke on the packer and there it was in the mechanics shop. Carl said it would be out in quite awhile. Well a few weeks later guess who got to drive the truck. Carl's truck was down as it needed a new hopper floor so he got to drive old reliable for two weeks. So it looks like Recology spent as little time possible getting this thigh up and running.
Well let's get more into the truck shall we? This is a 2002 refurbished Volvo WXLL, I’m 99% positive that it was taken off a Dempster Recycler and mounted with this 2007 Amrep Octo. I think that all the Amrep Octos in Recology's fleet where re bodies but I don't know. Anyway the Amrep body can use some TLC and maybe a new Tailgate as its leaking from EVERYWHERE. Anyway HUGE thanks to the driver!
