This podcast details the development and implementation of a forms handling system within an organization to replace an inefficient, paper-based process. Initially, the system began as a proof of concept for exceptional leave requests, designed to be easily extensible. Following its success, the system expanded to manage onboarding for new staff, streamlining notifications to various departments. Finally, the project tackled the most complex area: notifications for changes concerning existing staff, involving numerous form types and multi-level authorization workflows. The system ultimately improved efficiency, reduced manual tasks, and provided valuable reporting capabilities that were previously unavailable.
