#Elvis Costello Album Review
Released in 1981, Elvis & The Attractions' fifth album 'Trust' was made against an increasingly fraught back-drop of substance abuse, marital infidelity and intra-band fighting. Despite the problems, the record delivered more top quality songcraft and dynamic band performances, although Costello's bile and vitriol had begun to morph into pained self-reproach. In this video I look back on the making and release of this landmark British pop album, which occasionally gets overlooked amidst the deluge of great records The Attractions pumped out in the first 5 years of their career.
