***** "Revelations" is one of the most controversial and difficult descriptions of apocalyptic events, with many very diverse interpretations. But one thing is clear - the severity & cataclysmic nature of the events. This work isolates one of those "apocalyptic sequences" - the sounding of seven trumpets, each one (until the seventh) heralding a more horrific event than the one before it!
First trumpet - - - - - - - - Land: Hail and fire thrown down on the earth
Second trumpet - - - - - Sea: Mountain of fire thrown into the sea, destroying
sea creature and all ships
Third trumpet - - - - - - - Rivers and Springs: All water becomes bitter
Fourth trumpet - - - - - - Heavens: Moon and stars turn black
Fifth trumpet - - - - - - - Abyss: Out of the earth comes locusts like scorpions
Sixth trumpet - - - - - - - Death: A third of humankind is destroyed

***** A flamboyant, richly adorned melodic with resonant architecture describes Antonio Vivaldis ALLEGRO - first performed in 1725 at a ROYAL WEDDING. Wonderful example of Baroque style!
Utilizes a brief secular Italian text ( A pronunciation guide in IPA is included.) Has an optional solo duet in the B section of the work..

GREAT STORY: Venetian composer, Antonio Vivaldi, was commissioned by the French ambassador to Venice - Jacques-Vincent Languet, to write a work for the occasion of the wedding of Louis XV to the Polish princess Maria Leszczyńska. The wedding took place in the ambassadors garden on the 12th of September. The entire work that Vivaldi composed was 22 movements, with this Allegro being the last. The story involves two characters (each with their own musical line) - IMENEO (a mythological god and offspring of Apollo) and LA GLORIA (an allegorical character).
translation: These shall enjoy even more of their pleasure, once [they are] in the embrace of true contentment. The blessed torch shines for now, lighting the path to true happiness, but only amidst a long-awaited calm.
