In Revelation chapter 7, two groups of saints are described. The first group consists of 144,000 righteous Jews, who are sealed for a special ministry during the Tribulation period. The other group is an innumerable multitude from all nations. Why does John place this chapter after the sixth seal and before the seventh is broken? What distinguishes these saints from any others?
"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads" (Revelation 7:1-3).
As noted in previous videos, it is documented and confirmed that every chapter in the two books of John and Revelation correspond perfectly with each other. John used a duplication of design as he composed the two books - the seven lights in chapter 1 of both books; the resurrections in chapter 11 of both books; the Antichrist in chapters 6, 12, 13 and 17 in both books; even a remarkable view of Christ in chapter 19 of both books. Every chapter in each book develops the same subject matter or theme. It is also based closely upon the meanings of the Hebrew letters in the Hebrew alphabet, thus demonstrating not only the supernatural and divine origin of biblical scripture, but also the bible's divinely constructed structure. Why has no one ever seen this before? It is as plain as the nose on one's face. With this in mind, Revelation chapter 7 corresponds to the theme given in John chapter 7.
"The officers answered, Never man spake like this man" (John 7:46). "Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? But lo, he spoke boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?" (John 7:25-26).
Here, we can see the amazing theme repeated as it is in Revelation chapter 7. Just as Christ spoke boldly at the Temple in Jerusalem, the 144,000 witnesses will speak boldly at the site of the ancient Temple - to the consternation of the Antichrist. An interesting nugget of fact to note is that the tribe of Dan is missing from the twelve tribes that make up the 144,000 witnesses of the Tribulation period. There is a very good explanation for this in relation to the fact that the Antichrist will come from the tribe of Dan.
