A new MCU theory suggests that the real reason for Wolverine's live-action suit change was actually revealed in the second Deadpool and Wolverine trailer which was released recently.
One of the main points of excitement for viewers was definitely the introduction of Wolverine's new, more comic-accurate costume, since this had been eagerly awaited since The Wolverine more than 10 years ago revealed a different version of the yellow suit.
But judging by the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, there could be more to this new suit's entry to the MCU chronology than first meets the eye.

After Batman beats the Riddler, Catwoman tries to get him to leave Gotham with her and go upstate, Bludhaven maybe.
She tells him that together they can knock off some CEO hedge fund types. Batman says no, so Catwoman gets on her motorbike and drives off.
