New reports suggest that director Todd Phillips' unwillingness to collaborate closely with Warner Bros. and DC played a major role in Joker: Folie a Deux's poor reception with both critics and audiences.
Despite the massive success of Phillips' first Joker movie, Joker Folie a Deux had one of the worst opening weekends in comic book movie history. It also received harsh reviews from both critics and viewers.
The film faced heavy criticism, with many pointing to its disappointing ending, slow-paced music, and poor handling of Arthur Fleck’s character.
