With global heating continuing, by 2030 grain imports in countries like Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan are set to increase by 20% or more. WFP and the Government of Egypt support farmers like Anwar and Ahmad in Luxor governate with climate adaptation activities that increase crop yields, reduce land degradation, and improve food security for them and surrounding communities. So far, farmers have reported savings up to 60% on energy costs and land productivity has increased by 40% while costs of inputs have reduced.
