Michael Trainer joins James Maskell to discuss relational health, loneliness, network sufficiency, and the future of community-based medicine.

Michael Trainer is an author, speaker, and founder focused on relational intelligence, social health, and the role of human connection in wellbeing. He is the author of Resonance, where he explores how relationships and nervous system co-regulation shape health as much as biology or behavior. His work is informed by both personal experience—caring for his father through dementia and overcoming OCD following adolescent trauma—and global exploration, including immersive time in collectivist cultures such as Sri Lanka. Through his writing and teaching, he focuses on how individuals and communities can build deeper connections, restore emotional coherence, and strengthen the social foundations of health.
