So yesterday was the official release of the RE2 Remake Demo and I thought I'd give it a try, I just finished Resident Evil 1 HD Remake from 2002 and feel pretty excited for the release of the full game on 25th. This here is a PC / Steam version of the demo, it runs at 60fps in 1080p HD. Also I tried to be as thorough as possible, so this footage also includes all secrets and solutions to all puzzles included in the demo.
Hidden secrets are:
- the safe in the west office (12:53, the code to the lock is 9, 15 and 7 respectively, you change numbers without stopping on other ones and confirm only when you complete the combination. Inside you'll find a hip pouch). Shoutout to the channel Where's Barry (youtube.com/channel/UCoBS-YX2Hd9ZLtsPEd6Kdnw) for figuring this one out
- lion medallion (2nd floor of the main hall, from left to right you pick a crown, a lion's head and a ram) 8:48
- unicorn medallion (room next to the library, from left to right you pick a bird, a lady and a harp) 22:49
- a photo in the locker room (you open the lock by entering its number: 106 (15:07). You can develop it in the darkroom next to the save room near the stairs on 1F (16:29))
- lockers in 2F bathroom and 3F near stairs with padlocks, the first one's code is BIO (18:01) and has shotgun ammo, second one's is RES (18:49) and inside you'll find ammo for a Magnum, however there's no Magnum found in this demo
- hip pouch that adds 2 extra inventory slots (found in the room through which you can enter the library) 20:35
There are also few little details and easter eggs, like 12:39 (is this a JoJo reference?) and 9:53 (WE DO IT!).
The demo lets you play as Leon Kennedy at the beginning of the police station area, showing some of the basic zombie enemies and allowing players to take them down with either a handgun, survival knife or a shotgun. It introduces officer Marvin Branagh and gives a tease for Claire Redfield during the ending cutscene, as well sa a brand new trailer for the full game after finishing it.
The demo will be available for free until 31st January 2019 on XBox One, Playstation 4 and PC (through Steam) and has a set time limit of 30 minutes, so once you use it up on gameplay,it throws you back to the menu with no option to continue or start over.
