Daniel N | Dark Souls 3 - Bleed Build vs All DLC Bosses (The Ringed City & Ashes of Ariandel) @danieln6613 | Uploaded 7 years ago | Updated 1 day ago
With the release of The Ringed City and the end of the series I thought it's high time to make a follow-up video for all the DLC bosses with the bleed build I made a few months ago. The premise of my original video was to show how quickly a build based on quality stats (40/40 for str and dex) and 40 luck can deal with enemies in the game. Since then things changed a bit to its disadvantage, as most DLC bosses have impressive health pools and multiple phases, so they don't go down as easily as those in the base game. There's also the fact that bleed build-up on hollow weapons and carthus rouge was nerfed in favor of actual bleed infused weapons (which makes their build-up on par and in some cases slightly better than here), so it's not as effective as it was before. I learnt how that nerf worked during recording of those fights and some of the bosses had already went down at that point, so I thought I'll stick with it instead of re-doing the game and getting to ng+ with blood infused weapons. Another reason why I didn't go with full-on bleed infusion is because the combination of base physical damage and similar bleed build-up still makes this one more effective despite the nerf.

I made this character in preparation for the dlc and got him to ng+, it'a recreation of the one from my original video and is almost identical (warrior class, str, dex and luck at 40), with 2 small exceptions: he has less points put into vigor (20 for Demon Prince, 24 for other bosses) and more into endurance (40 instead of 35) for more attack spamming. I also leveled luck up to 30 instead of 35, however it's still elevated to 40 because I have two +10 hollow weapons equipped (each adds 5 points of luck), so those extra points can be invested elsewhere.

Notes:

- Darkeater Midir is the only boss from both dlcs that is completely immune to bleed.

- Gael could be killed faster if I thought of buffing twinblades with carthus rouge before his 3rd phase, instead I was running from him like an idiot only to re-buff them near the end of the fight.

- Friede boss fight was actually pre-recorded a few months ago, when patch 1.08 was still active. I recorded both her and Gravetender way back before the release of The Ringed City and left the recordings to later include them with TRC bosses in one video. Before I realized how changes implemented by From affected how bleed works, Friede was already dead on this playthrough, so I decided to re-do Gravetender on this new game version and leave her old fight as it was shortly after release of AoA. The version of character from that part of the video is the same as current one, with only difference being vigor at 25.

- I wanted to have more weapon variety when compared to the previous video, as people complained about lack of weapons other than CCS. My first thought was to use different weapon for each boss, but I made an exception for warden twinblades (used in 2 fighs and Friede's first 2 phases), as they're probably the best dps weapon for this build, so I wanted to show how they handle tankier bosses.

- Blood infusion makes bleed build-up similar to the one in hollow ones buffed with carthus rouge, however it looks like ultra greatswords and curved greatswords get a MASSIVE bleed build-up when infused with blood gem. At 40 luck their bleed is close to 100 and they can trigger bleed on some enemies even in one hit

- This one is probably painfully obvious to most of you, but in order to inflict bleed you must attack enemies constantly with as little breathing time as possible, so expect a lot of attack spamming in this video.

- All bosses in this video are on ng+1, however I don't know if TRC bosses get significantly more hp on higher game cycles. In AoA the difference between their health on ng and ng+1 is almost non-existent though.
