Luxurious Blu | Re-Reading The Grisha Trilogy @LuxuriousBlu | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 17 hours ago.
I decided to re-read and review Leigh Bardugo's Grisha Trilogy before reading the Six of Crows Duology and the Netflix adaptation, Shadow and Bone. I'm not sure which books and how much changes the Netflix Shadow and Bone show will have, so I wanted to refresh my memory on the story and finally read the much lauded Six Of Crows Duology.
I went in expecting to like the #Grisha Trilogy, but not love it. The first time I read it I enjoyed the worldbuilding, and for the most part, the story was entertaining. But I was not expecting to find so many things in the series that bothered me. Honestly, I should not have re-read the series; it was a waste of time. But, silver-lining: I got to flex my critical-thinking skills! Also I had some realizations about the series: there was an underlying theme of Law Of Attraction and shadow work
I am sharing the thoughts I had while reading the series. I have critiques, and some suggestions for improvements. Actually I would love a re-write of the trilogy with improvements.
Also here's a better alternative to re-reading the series: tor.com/series/the-grisha-trilogy-reread/.Their summaries and breakdowns of the series are very insightful and a faster read than the trilogy.
Now I'm off to read the Six Of Crows Duology, get deeper in the #Grishaverse and finally watch #ShadowandBone on Netflix.
