After much community collaboration on the Google Group for Delta 3D Printers, Wally was born.
In the video, the two arms connect with gears like a scissor lift. This will get rid of the need for larger bearings and will allow for an automatic tool changer. There is also a plastic insert with an eccentric hole that is used to adjust the backlash between the two gears. (If you look close you can see its orange hex head below the tool carriage.) Everything is modeled that is needed for the real thing except for the drive pulleys. (I don't know why I left those out for this rendering.)
