Any retro/vintage computer guys will know about slimline floppy drives (mainly used in laptops) using drive belts to spin up the disk. Cause of the slim design thin spindle motors weren't quite available yet so a separate motor was needed with reduction.

Problem is with age and use these belts would deteriorate and thus break or simply crumble to bits. However you can replace these belts if you have the right kind and don't mind doing some disassembly of the drive in need.

I actually filmed this in August of 2021 and never uploaded it until three years later...
