There are many gate replacement products that are similar to this one. I've uploaded this video to give an overview of generally how these products work. Our kit came with all the hardware you’ll need to install it properly. You may, however, have to purchase extra hardware – such as extra-long hinge bolts. These are necessary in cases in which you are installing the frame in fence posts that are wider than normal – i.e. those measuring 6” or 8” in width. In some kits, you’ll find, as we did, that these hinge bolts are actually longer than necessary. After installation, you can simply use your hacksaw to remove the extra length.
Since the problem of sagging gates is rather common, you will find many gate companies offering similar products. Some use a combination of heavy-gauge wire and a metal frame.
You might also want to consider the weight of the gate and the problems weight can cause. The product we installed came complete with a stop plate. This prevents the gate from swinging out into the driveway and damaging a car. A more important concern, however, is young children. You might want to consider fitting your gate with gate stops to avoid hurting little fingers.
