Remote ID and FAA Fixed Sites

In t his video I will discuss FAA fixed sites for radio control model airplane pilots. I will show the fixed sites on the FAA's UAS Data Delivery Service interactive map and outline the differences between fixed sites (due to controlled airspace deconfliction of RC models and manned aircraft) and FRIAs, or FAA Recognized Identification Areas that are part of the new remote ID regulation coming into effect on Sept 16, 2023.

The FAA's UAS Data Delivery Service is a key part of the new regulation regarding remote ID and RC model aircraft, both drones and fixed wing aircraft. Purpose being to inform RC model aircraft pilots where they can and cannot fly to stay deconflicted from manned aircraft operations.
