How to Design an RC Airplane
In this video I will show you how to design an RC airplane. In short, a DIY design of an RC model airplane.
In previous videos I went over how to read a set of RC model airplane plans as well as how to build a model, the Pronto, from a set of plans. In this video I will discuss how to figure out what your DIY airplane should look like to include wing size, incidence, nose length, center of gravity, length of fuselage, etc. Also, this is an RC airplane for beginners as there are no unusual aspects of the RC airplane build.
I recommend drawing a pencil plan at first, to scale, for this initial rendering of the model. You will be able to see how the various sections of the model look together. This model is constructed from 3/16" foam board, so the overall weight is low. And with twin motors there is plenty of thrust.
In short, this is a perfect DIY (do it yourself) RC model airplane design and build project, great for beginner and experienced modelers alike.
