My streaming setup consists of two areas: my main computer area and my bench area. The bench area has a few cameras that I need to capture and send to my computer, but the distance is about 15-20 feet away from the computer itself.

I've been using a long (20 foot) active USB 3 cable and a USB powered hub to run these capture cards to the main computer, but I get frequent drop-outs in OBS. I could just invest in longer HDMI cables, but then I'd have to run multiple HDMI cables around my room.

I found out about a technology called NDI that will allow me to send cameras/ capture cards from a secondary computer to my primary computer over a single Ethernet cable.

Let's experiment with NDI, and see if it would be a good replacement for multiple long HDMI cables!
