Remember “Sit, Ubu, Sit! Good Dog”? The Story Behind the Iconic TV Logo | Reaction
If you grew up watching TV in the 80s and 90s, chances are you remember this:
“Sit, Ubu, sit! Good dog!” 🐕📺
It was one of those tiny little moments at the end of a TV show that somehow became permanently burned into our memories — but I’d never really stopped to think about the story behind it.
Today I'm reacting to Old Metal Lunchbox's “Sit Ubu Sit: The ‘Dirty Little Secret’ Behind TV's Most Iconic Logo” and learning more about Ubu, the famous dog behind the Ubu Productions closing logo, as well as a little of the history behind the production company itself.
For me, this is pure 80s television nostalgia. Back then you'd see all sorts of memorable production logos and little calling cards after the credits of your favourite sitcoms, and somehow some of them became almost as memorable as the shows themselves!
So come along for a quick nostalgic reaction as we finally discover the story behind:
